What is a QDRO?

​

A QDRO is a Court Order issued under a particular states Domestic Relations law.  It recognizes the right of an Alternate Payee to receive all or a portion of the Plan Participants Retirement Account.

When is a QDRO needed?                                                                      

A QDRO will be needed if you and your spouse are separating, in the process of getting a divorce, or are already divorced – and one or both of you have money in a Retirement Plan.  It is extremely important to get a QDRO drafted and signed by a judge, as soon as possible, in order to protect your rights to these valuable Plan benefits.
